Nature Walk with Chris Rawls
Join us for a complimentary guided tour led by The Umstead’s Naturalist and Head Landscaper Chris Rawls. Stroll amongst the property’s towering trees framing its gardens and three-acre lake, featuring a restored stream, turtle nesting areas, butterfly garden and fountains that circulate the water for optimal plant and animal health. Learn about the array of native North Carolina plant life, vibrant flowers and ornamental shrubs that Chris has carefully cultivated and tended through the years.
Umstead Annual White Truffle Dinner
Tis the season gourmands across the country wait for, White Truffle season! This rare treat is only available from Autumn through December, and merits a special White Truffle Tasting Menu during the month of December when the truffles are at their peak. Available only in Herons starting Tuesday, November 5th, 2024, the menu showcases the “white diamond of Italy”, balancing the flavors of this most delicate and rare truffle in the world with seven courses of carefully selected ingredients, providing a sensory experience unlike any other.
